Head into the heart of Kenya on this compact wildlife itinerary. Discover Lake Nakuru’s birdlife and rhino herds, before venturing deep into the world’s most famous wildlife reserve. The Maasai Mara is home to warriors, the Big Five and hot air balloon rides. This safari is a wonderful introduction to this wild country and a cost-effective way to fulfil a bucket-list dream.

YOUR ITINERARY:
DAY 1 – Fly overnight from the Dublin to Nairobi.
DAY 2 – Welcome to Kenya. Upon arrival in Nairobi, a local representative will be waiting at the airport to transfer you to your comfortable hotel.
DAY 3 – After breakfast, drive for 2-hours to Lake Nakuru in the famous Great Rift Valley. Lake Nakuru National Park is a haven for birdlife, with over 400 colourful African species found here, including spoonbills, storks and pelicans. On arrival there will be time for a relaxed lunch, before heading out on an afternoon game drive to explore the incredible surroundings. Overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge (or similar).
DAY 4 – Spend a second day exploring Lake Nakuru National Park. Returning from your game drive, there’ll be time to relax and enjoy the panoramic lake views from the lodge. Overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge (or similar).
DAY 5 – After an early breakfast, drive for 7-hours to the most famous wildlife reserve in the world – the incredible Maasai Mara. Home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the world, the endless wide-open savannah and rolling grasslands truly epitomise Kenya. Overnight at Mara Engai Lodge (or similar).
DAY 6 – Prepare yourself for an unforgettable day, beginning with a highly recommended optional hot air balloon safari. Afterwards, head out on morning and afternoon game drives into the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The reserve offers fantastic chances of seeing the Big Five and other wildlife including giraffe, hyena and impala. Look out for lions basking in the shade or an elusive solo leopard. Overnight at Mara Engai Lodge (or similar).
DAY 7 – After an early breakfast, begin the 7-hour drive back to Nairobi for your return flight to the UK or onward travel. Speak to our teams about extending your trip with a beach stay in Mombasa, Zanzibar or Mauritius.

Itinerary includes breakfast, lunch and dinner every day except the day of arrival and day of departure. On arrival day no meals are included and you have free time to relax. On departure day breakfast is included. All park fees are included.
