The Sol Tenerife has won the lottery when it comes to location – all that separates it from a huge swathe of sand is a seafront promenade. Head in the opposite direction and it’s just a five-minute walk from Playa de la Americas’ famous nightlife. A 20-minute stroll takes you to Siam Park – one of the world’s best waterparks – too.
Back at the hotel, days revolve around the two plus-sized pools. They’re both set into sun terraces with sweeping views of the sea and one of them is heated during the winter months. You’ll also find a smaller pool for children to splash around in, and a bar serving snacks. Main meals, meanwhile, are served in the buffet restaurant – expect international cuisine with some local favourites.
