ninja-wheel Junior #NInja Review – Port D’es Torrent, Ibiza

I went on my holidays to the island of Ibiza with my Mum, Dad and Sister Molly (aged 6) in July 2018. Our hotel was called Holiday Village Ibiza in a place called Port Des Torrent – it had six swimming pools, a water park, two 4G football pitches, kids club and five restaurants!

Day 1 – Dad woke me up at 2.30am in the morning and we headed to the airport for our 3-hour flight to Ibiza. All went well except when rather heavy turbulence almost made me fall head first into the toilet – what a start to the holiday that would have been!!! At the airport we grabbed our bags and after a short bus ride we arrived at our home for the next week. I spent the afternoon playing in the massive pool and eating a LO of ice-cream. We had dinner in the buffet restaurant – there was a large selection of food and I was delighted to find they had my favourite food – pizza! Dad had some paella, mum had fish and Molly yummed up some chicken nuggets and chips (covered in tomato sauce of course!) We finished off the evening by enjoying a magic show. After our early start we were all glad to get into our comfy beds.

Day 2 – We woke up early and went out onto our large balcony and enjoyed the sea views before heading off to breakfast. We had a full day of activities. Dad went and played adult football – he said he wanted to show the English how to play football!! I went to kid’s club and enjoyed “Aqua Antics” which was basically just a big water fight – it was so much fun! Mum did Aqua Aerobics and Molly went trampolining. In the afternoon we all went to the waterpark and raced down the slides! We went for dinner to one of the three themed restaurants in the hotel – an Italian. Needless to say, I had pizza again!!

Day 3 – After a big breakfast we took a water taxi to San Antonio to visit our friend Claire. It was a lot busier than where our hotel was. We walked along the harbour and then cooled down with ice creams in one of the many cafes. Dad said he wanted to stay “to throw some shapes” (I’m not sure what that means) but mum said he was too old and we got the water taxi back in time for dinner. Afterwards I played football with some of the friends I made and mum and dad listened to the band and started to dance – I think they had too much wine!!

Day 4 – I signed up for a three day “Life Guard Rookie” course. This was great fun! We learnt life saving techniques in the water as well as first aid. In the afternoon we went to the beach; which was only a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. In the evening they showed the England v Sweden match on the big screen outside. The entertainment staff painted my face in Swedish colours – a decision I regretted as England won 2-0. We ended the day by watching the sun set from the pool, it was so cool!!

Day 5 – Today we went off on a glass bottom boat, called “Anchors Away”. This was a fun boat trip around the Ibiza coastline including some free time on one of Ibiza’s beaches. Our host for the trip was a really funny guy and gave us lots of interesting facts about Ibiza. His story about an island inhabited by monkey’s including one who smoked all day was my favourite! However, the best part of the day was when the boat dropped anchor and we dived off the boat and swam in the sea miles from shore. They even played the Jaws music – it was quite scary!

Day 6 – In the morning I went on the “High Wire” challenge in the hotel. The view from the top was class – once I managed to open my eyes! I then did some water zorbing – my mum said I looked like a hamster on a wheel! Dad showed the English how to play football again and mum and Molly played splash bingo. We had dinner in the Sunset Grill in the evening – they had no pizza so I got a burger instead whilst Dad had the biggest steak I have ever seen!

Day 7 – Our last day was spent at the Infinity Pool. This is a quieter area of the hotel with a long winding pool looking out to sea. I then managed to head to Kid’s Club one last time and took part in a Las Vegas party – I’d like to tell you what happened, but like my dad says, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

Our bus arrived early the next morning to take us back home!!

We all really enjoyed Ibiza and the Holiday Village. There was loads for kids to do and we came away with some fantastic memories. Hopefully Mum and Dad take us back there next year!!
